About your tutor - Rebecca Muscat is a Blue Mountains Fibre Artist working primarily in loom weaving and macrame, crochet and embroidery. Using the natural environment as a source of eternal inspiration, Rebecca favours a sparse, neutral palette to highlight the texture and form of her two & three dimensional works.
With a particular interest in slow fashion and the maker movement, Rebecca’s aim is to promote each person’s creative process as a form of mindfulness and self care. With a Bachelor Degree in Fine Arts, she finds joy in sharing these skills to creatively energise others.

Join tutor Joanne for this fabulous one day workshop - Learn how to felt and create your next hat - cloche, concertina or small brimmed hat. Wet felting can't be rushed, so enjoy this slow-paced workshop while you learn the techniques to create your own unique hat. Participants leave the workshop with not only a hat and brooch, but are equipped with the skills, knowledge and necessary equipment to continue with the art of wet felting at home.
All materials and lunch are included. Additional leather trims for hat bands will be available for purchase on the day. You need to bring 2 x towels for mopping up excess water.
Joanne Barr is a Milliner and farmer based in Currabubula and has a studio near Walcha NSW. Jo has been making hats for over 18 years and has been creating wet felt hats for 5 years. Jo recently gave up her full time high school teaching job to allow her to focus on her farm and also set up a Millinery business called JAMB Hats and Millinery.
